Do you know someone that needs treatment or someone who has come out of treatment for an eating disorder?

It is our goal to be a support system for those suffering from eating disorders and the friends and family that want to help.

The purpose for us sharing this clip is to give friends/family insight into the amount of courage it takes for their loved one to get treatment and the reality that full recovery doesn’t always happen the first time but honoring how far they have come is key to giving support.

Founder’s Message

A Place of Healing’s 2016 Annual Board of Directors Meeting was meant to be a celebration.  It could have gone 1 of 2 ways, either looking forward to another year of service to the community or closing our doors and honoring all we had accomplished.

This is Recovery

This passage was found and shared somewhere on Facebook and I am grateful that it was shared with me.  Many suffering with eating disorders also suffer with perfectionism.  Perfection does not exist and if we make perfection a goal we are only torturing ourselves.  In turn, we feel guilty for not being perfect and sometimes feel that we should punish ourselves by acting out on our eating disorders or other unhealthy actions.
