Monique Richard is a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) and licensed dietitian nutritionist (LDN) with a Master of Science degree in Clinical Nutrition completed through the coordinated program at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Monique graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree with a concentration in dietetics and minor in psychology from Middle Tennessee State University. She was the first recipient of the Frederick Green Memorial Scholarship in Nutrition Communication, mentored by well-known RD and CNN veteran Carolyn O’Neil in Atlanta, Ga.
Monique is a New-Member Value committee member for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Chair-elect for the Dietitian’s in Integrative and Functional Medicine Dietetic Practice Group (DPG). She volunteers with the American Overseas Dietetic Association, an affiliate of the Academy and many other DPG’s, as well as served on their executive committees.
Monique’s passion for integrative and functional medicine is found in her knowledge of plant-based diets, holistic intervention and treatment plans, and investigating the connection of one’s environment, genetic predisposition, physical and psychological health along with current intake and nutrient needs.
In August 2014 Monique traveled to Haiti on a nutrition and medical mission trip with the Azil Foundation. Monique has traveled to China and India with the McNair Scholar Program to present research on eating behavior and diabetes, as well as taught healthier nutrition choices to elementary students in Cairo, Egypt. She studied art and observed the food culture in Italy and traveled to Israel and back to India to participate in international nutrition conferences related to the Mediterranean diet and type II diabetes, respectively.
Monique is an adjunct professor at ETSU where she teaches Human Nutrition as well as offers private counseling and consulting services.
She has experience in helping clients with general nutrition and health, eating disorders, medical nutrition therapy such as diabetes and cardiovascular health, sports nutrition and many more nutrition related concerns.
Monique is President of “Nutrition-In-Sight” where she offers counseling and consulting. She also writes, participates in radio interviews, conducts presentations, and is available for cooking demonstrations, corporate wellness programs or group sessions. She is also a AAAI Certified Yoga Instructor.
